? The Head Start preschool requests that all enrollment paperwork for returning students be turned in by August 8, 2008.
? Saturday September 20th from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. is parent orientation at Daybreak Star. New and returning students should attend with their families. Lunch is provided.
? The first day of school for Head Start preschool is Monday September 22nd.

United Indians Prenatal to Five Head Start
Provides early childhood development and education opportunities for pregnant women and children birth to five years old. The mission is to offer an educational experience for children and families that nourishes the spirit and reflects the cultural richness and diversity of the community.
Head Start Center Based (three - five year olds) partners with parents and The Alesek Institute to nurture children's development in an environment inspired by Native values and traditions. “No cost to you” services are provided to families who meet federal low-income guidelines. This program is available to children who are three years old by August 31 of program year, and all four year olds. Services Include:
Half-day classes, Monday - Thursday. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Located in the natural settings of Discovery Park, the classrooms offer rich and natural environments for creative play and learning. The educational curriculum integrates Native values and traditions of the unique ethnic backgrounds of our families. Child Development, Social, Health & Nutrition Services, and Disability Services and Transportation when possible.
Early Head Start Home Based (pre-natal - three years old) provides services to pregnant women and children ages birth to three. Services include:
Weekly home visits for families with our Early Childhood Specialists. They partner with parents to offer a child development curriculum and, support and referrals for social and health related services.
A comprehensive program supporting the healthy growth and development of families.
Family nights and social gatherings to strengthen the relationships between parents and children within our community.
