It is the
Vision of UIATF HS to create a comprehensive learning environment for children, parents and staff inspired by: Native American values and traditions, early childhood and professional development “best practices” and the strength based approach for family development.
At UIATF Prenatal to Five Head Start we believe that parents are the first and most important teachers in their children’s lives. Staff and parents partner to understand and support each child individually.
At UIATF Prenatal to Five Head Start we believe that each child, parent and staff member builds on the knowledge and experience they have, we each have our own purposes and need supportive experiences to rethink, revise and create new knowledge and understandings.
At UIATF Prenatal to Five Head Start we believe that all families have strengths in which to build upon. Through the goals setting process we support each family as they develop and empower themselves.
At UIATF Prenatal to Five Head Start we believe that staff need similar kinds of support as the children and parents in order to fulfill their own intellectual and professional desires, and to create the environment of individualization and support for others.
At UIATF Prenatal to Five Head Start we believe that shared governance between the staff, parents and board is crucial to the development of this program, the community and to each individual within.
